01 discovery & research
01 discovery & research
The original bag design comes from Oren (@orenmeetsworld on IG) and the team over at Shyft. I discovered the design in a Reel from Oren about bag concepts for his brand Valuable, and fell in love with this one.
To find out what it could look like if brought to life, I took it upon myself to create a 3D model of the bag and do some 3D visualization.

Valuables takes finds much of their inspiration from vintage cars and a rustic aesthetic. To enhance this, I made some changes to the original design to make it more in line with what I wanted from it.

As mentioned, I wanted to take the bag further down the vintage and rustic aesthetic. I didn’t like the original screen printed blue logo, and switched it out for a metal plate with a embossed logo. I also changed up the materials a bit, using leather for the body, while using long haired suedes for the handles. To top things off and further cement the aesthetic, I added gold brushed metal to all the metal details.
The original design was obviously very good, but I found these small changes to enhance it further.

The bag was modeled in Blender, textured in Adobe Substance Painter, and rendered in Blender.
For the graphics and visuals, I wanted to keep it on the same creative direction. I built out a sunset scene in Blender with the bag standing on the floor in front of a pillar, creating some beautiful lighting and shadows. This for me is spot on the vibe I wanted when I started this project.
